When Wanderers Cease to Roam
I've done the who-am-I-and-where-am-I-going-thing, and moving-around-the-country-for-35-years-before-I-suddenly-decided-to-unpack-my-suitcases-once-and-for-all-thing,
All the above during the falling-in-love-and-isn't-it-wonderful-thing
And the married-with-three-kids-and-its-not-always-wonerful-thing,
and the having-it-all-or-what-ever-the-heck-that-was-thing.
I've done the midway-along-the-journey-of-my-life and remind-my-friends--that "60-something"-is-when-your-body-expands-it's-to hold-all-the-love-and-wisdom-we've-achieved-which-they-don't-believe-thing.
And I've -tripped-on-some-rocks-and-I've-bought-some-iffy-stocks-and-I've-had-some-hard-knocks-but-"I'm still standing"- Elton John (like his platform boots, his music keeps moving)-affirmational thing.
But the thing is, I'm still indeed here, and there appears to be more ahead,
And what am I planning to do with the rest of it?
Wondering about the isn't-it-time-to-sell-the-house-and-move-to-a-place-that-doesn't-have-all-these-stairs-thing,
Hit the nearest book store for a copy of "The High School Reunion Diet" (Loose 20 years in 30 days)-a simple, sweet and sassy thing.
And most importantly, the staying close to those (and you know who you are) who-make-me-giggle-thing.
Grins to all as we approach nearer-to-the-blast-from-the-past-thing!

School Story:

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times and so it was even inside the halls of Parsippany High School.
We fought to find our place, whether it was in the cafeteria, the classroom, on the playing field or on the dance floor.
We hoped to be noticed, all the while praying not to stick out.
At the same time, we were trying to find out who we were, we were trying to blend into the crowd.
We judged and were judged on what we wore, who we knew, where we came from and where we were going.
Worst of all, sometimes we were judged for who we weren't.
The above was "once-upon-a-time & long-long-ago". We enjoyed the little things in life....now some 50 years later, we realize they were the big things.
So, looking forward to being a part of "The Blast from the Past", this August..... TOGETHER is a wonderful place to be!

Amid the season's hustle and bustle, a warm, quiet place is reserved in all the hearts of the P.H.S. Class of 1960 for remembering Patty.

She gave gifts of courage with dignity, and a natural grace through simply living her life. What better present to incapsulate the true meaning of the holiday season?

Ol' Twinkle Toes may have had it right all along.
"Old age is like everything else," legendary hoofer Fred Astaire once said. "To make a success of it, you've got to start young."
